Nice. My winter project is saved;-)

I intend to convert storage and hypervisor communication to infiniband
for fast and cheaper speed pr. $.

20 gbps cards and switches come cheap these days. Dual port cards at
about 50$ and a 24 port switch can be purchased for about 300$
