Hi Prasad,

We're running OmniOS r151014 on some Dell R730s with PERC H730 Mini HBAs.
Even though this is not a recommended combination, with the updates we made
to the driver a few months ago, we're not seeing any problems. We have some
more driver updates that haven't yet been upstreamed but these mostly
concentrate on further improving performance and fixing some smaller bugs
and we aren't yet running these on production systems.

Unfortunately the driver's version string wasn't changed with the updates
but here's the checksum of the one we're running:

reaper# (188) modinfo | grep sas
 55 fffffffff7ac2000 1d070 172 1 mr_sas (6.503.00.00ILLUMOS)
reaper# (189) digest -a sha1 /kernel/drv/amd64/mr_sas
2c81e48297a06a585cf5ae31ee92a537e7563962
reaper# (190)

Here are the firmware versions from one of our HBAs. Are yours the
same?

reaper# (185) megacli -AdpAllInfo -a0
                    Versions

and the enclosure (which I expect will be different on the xd):

reaper# (198) megacli -EncInfo -aALL

Check these configuration parameters too:

reaper# (192) megacli -AdpAllInfo -a0 | egrep 'JBOD|Direct PD'
Enable JBOD : Yes
Direct PD Mapping : Yes
Enable JBOD : Yes

reaper# (195) echo '::mr_sas -dtv' | mdb -k
         mrsas_t inst max_fw_cmds intr_type

and, finally, check the adapter log file:

reaper# (207) megacli -AdpAlILog -a0

We only see a handful of log entries a day with the current driver - with the
old one the log was being hammered (which is one of the things that caused
the performance issues).

Hope that helps,

Andy
