The first OmniOS bloody (r151017) update for 2016 is now finally available. You can get it at the regular place:

	http://omnios.omniti.com/wiki.php/Installation

illumos-omnios is built from revision 2e178ba. omnios-build is built from 45cb430, but is a faster moving target.

There is one incomplete feature in this update, I'll mention it in the list of what's new, and discuss it later. It affects ssh, sudo, and others.

New for this release:

* The ISO or USB install media now includes the "pciutils" package, so one can diagnose their hardware a bit better just by using "lspci" and friends.

* Various security patches you've seen rolled out for 014 & 016 (OpenSSL, NTP, bind, ISC DHCP, libxml2, rsync)

* zsh is now version 5.2.

* Mozilla NSS is now version 3.21. The CA-bundle is updated correspondingly.

* Merged with illumos-gate up to branch 5e11cc3.

* NFSv4 deadlock fix -- illumos 6554

* NLM locking fix -- illumos 6525

* Scrub & resilver improvement -- illumos 6450

* SMF ipfilter enhancements for IPv6

* mpt_sas deadlock fix -- illumos 6256

* illumos 6057 --> new lastlog & associated PAM fixes. THIS NEEDS MORE WORK -- see below.

ABOUT ILLUMOS 6057

It was backed-out of upstream, but because it was initially contributed by an OmniOS community member, I want to keep it in bloody for now in the hopes of working out all of the kinks. Some oddness you will notice:

- sudo prints last login

- SunSSH prints an extra line after last login, AND it prints last login when it shouldn't (scp & command execution).

- There are probably other case I'm missing.

I would REALLY appreciate further community help with testing so 6057 can be in good enough shape to re-upstream.

Thanks,
Dan

p.s. I'm in Brussels for FOSDEM this weekend, and I'll be speaking at 12noon on Sunday.
