SLC SSD connected to system backplane via supermicro 2,5 to 3,5 converter. Running the SATA over a SAS backplane is just asking for trouble (without one I've had expander lockups necessitating a full powercycle of the machine). You may need to do some drilling and mechanical adjustments of your 2.5-to-3.5 adapter plates in order to accommodate the interposer, but it can be done.
